Allama Muhammad Iqbal (R.A)
This article is related to the personality of our national poet Allama Iqbal Muhammad Iqbal was born on 9, November 1877 mostly people known as Allama Iqbal was a Muslim poet and philosopher. He is also known as the poet of the east. He wrote poetry Urdu and Persian. He is commonly known as Dr. Allama Iqbal.
Early life and Education
Muhammad Iqbal’s father was sheik Noor Muhammad who works in a small government job but later starts his business. He was tailor by profession and his mother was imam bibi. Both Allama Iqbal’s mother and father were very religious minded people and lead a simple life. He admitted Iqbal to the mosque to learn the Quran. After complete his early Islamic education then he got admission in mission high school in Sialkot. Then he went to government college Lahore where he did a bachelor of arts in philosophy, English literature, and Arabic. For higher education, he went to the west.
Career of Iqbal
In his early career, Iqbal also becomes a new poet and writer. He used to go to attend the mushier in the Bhati gate area of old Lahore city. Here he meets many famous poets and writers and began to write good poems which become very popular day by day. After complete his BA and MA from government college, Lahore at this same institution Iqbal was appointed a professor and sometime he was selected for higher studies in England and Europe. In 1919, he became the general secretary of Anjuman Himayat-e-Islam. Then in 1927, Iqbal was elected to the Punjab Legislative assembly and was later elected to preside over the session of the Muslim League. It was there that he for the first time introduced the idea of ‘Pakistan’.
Allama Iqbal was a great poet and a philosopher, he was concerned about the thoughts and ideas of Muslims everywhere, but especially Indian Muslims. Iqbal assumed strongly in Sir Syed Ahmed Khan’s idea about ‘Two Nation theory’. Allama’s words and ideas inspired many Muslims, some of whom became leaders of the Muslim League, and struggled to obtain Pakistan later
He has written thousands of books in Urdu, Punjabi, English, and Persian.
